Global Health Education
Our goals this year are:
- To continue to encourage and promote involvement of all departments at U of T in international health-related events and projects, working closely in coordination with the Global Health Education coordinators for the medical school curriculum.
- To implement the 2005-2006 Interfaculty Student Representative Proposal and communicate with the diverse departments at U of T through the development of a student departmental representative
committee. - To work with departmental representatives to discuss and promote International Health and Health Equity content in education at the various professional faculties at U of T.
- To work toward these goals in collaboration with the Centre for International Health (CIH) and contacts in Canada and abroad.
Currently, we have departmental representatives for Arts & Science, Pharmacy, Nursing and Physical Therapy.
* If you are interested in representing UTIHP and global health education to your faculty this year, and you are studying in a faculty not listed above, such as Rehabilitation Sciences, Speech Language Pathology, Law, Dentistry, Music, etc., please contact us at the email address above. We would love to hear from you.
This year, we hope to promote international health by having each departmental representative organize two speaker event related to the faculty they represent. We hope to meet with representatives throughout the year to discuss planning for events, and also to discuss strategies for raising awareness of international health and health equity issues through proposing changes in curriculum where appropriate.
